Jack and William Gambardella run it
Reviews call it a big company run by one or two people. The named operators on the contact page are Jack Gambardella, who answers (203) 843-2848 at any hour, and William Gambardella, who answers (203) 934-5576 from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
That morning line is the same number painted on the truck and listed on Google. Jack's line is the after-hours and last-minute number. Both are real. Neither is a parlor host stand.
The work is wholesale. Weekly and bi-weekly drops to more than 100 Greater New Haven stores, plus three catering trucks for parties and company events. Pickup at the warehouse door is 4:00 AM to 11:00 AM if you want to skip the evening delivery window.
What this is not
This is not a scoop shop. There is no cone counter and no walk-in flavor wall. The warehouse at 26 Clifton Street is a pickup door and a loading yard. The photographs on this site are the freezer stills and the two vehicles, not stock coolers from somewhere else.
